Medical Billing and Office Specialist

Objective:

This program provides students with the necessary knowledge and specific skills required to function effectively in today’s medical office environment. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level positions that require general administrative skills, as well as specialized knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, insurance billing and coding systems, computerized patient accounting, and computer skills and expertise. Graduates will also be qualified to perform general administrative duties in any business/office environment.

Standards of Progress:

Successful student progress will be based on major exams covering each subject area. The individual grades are averaged to determine the final grade point average. Student must achieve a final grade point average of 72 or better on exams, and should be a proficient typist, to pass the course and receive a graduation certificate.
